Hi, I’m Heather Benjamin-wife, mother to three incredible young adult children, small business owner, blogger, writer, and dreamer.
But before all of these rolls, I was a survivor. My childhood was marked by sexual abuse, and that painful reality shaped not only who I am, but also why I write. For years, I carried silence, shame, and brokenness that didn’t belong to me. Writing became my release-poetry, journaling, and storytelling became the way I piece myself back together.
Today, I write not just for myself, but for every survivor who has ever felt forgotten, unheard, or unworthy. This blog is my offering to you-a place where our stories matter, where healing is possible, and where even the softest voice is still powerful.
Welcome to The Echo Knows My Name. This space was born from whispers-of pain carried too long, of strength discovered in silence, of hope that refuses to fade. The Echo Knows My Name is not just a title, but a reminder: you are not forgotten. Even when your voice feels quiet, your story still resounds.
Here, we will speak of wounds and of healing. We will let feelings rise-fear, grief, anger, and the tender moments of peace that return when least expected. We will explore what it means to trust again, to gather up pieces of confidence, to remember that you are worthy of love and peace.
But this will not only be a place of heavy truths. It will also be a sanctuary for beauty-poetry to soothe the heart, gentle motivation to lift weary spirits, and simple joys like recipes and little creations and decor for the home. Because life, even after hurt, can still hold sweetness.
If you are here, know this: you are not walking alone. The echo knows your name, too. It carries your voice, your pain, your strength, and your becoming.
Together, we will learn to breathe deeply, to heal slowly, and to believe again.
